Audi Allroad - 2.5 TDI Quattro with a Sterling

Paul O'Neill reviewed a Audi Allroad - 2.5 TDI Quattro (132 Kw/177 bhp). Modelyear: june 2000 - may 2006) and a Sterling Europa 525 of 1303 kg.

The towing capability for this outfit is:
= 76%* = 112 km/u = 26%

Before I bought my audi, I ran a discoverery td5.
The real difference between the two tow cars is the power. With the Landrover I was forever having to change down a gear, the effect of this was the loss in speed into the 30s and take an age to build vup the speed again. I towed with the audi for the first time last week (23.10. 06) the difference contrasting to say the least. I havn't yet found a hill were iv'e needed to chage down to below 4th gear and with very little loss of speed.
The fuel consumption is in the high 20s towing.

Audi Allroad - 2.5 TDI Quattro with a Coachman

Dave reviewed a Audi Allroad - 2.5 TDI Quattro (132 Kw/177 bhp). Modelyear: june 2000 - may 2006) and a Coachman Laser 640/4 of 1880 kg.

The towing capability for this outfit is:
= 99%* = 109 km/u = 20%

I have owned my Allroad for 3 1/2 years now and it's just unbelievable. I have towed now for over 20 years and nothing can compare to this even though it's the biggest van I have towed.
Weve just returned again for the fourth year from France, in the Rhone Alps and no hill was any bother. We did approx 1500 miles with the Laser on no issues.
The report previously mentions about hills and not going below 4th gear, I definitely concur with that no matter how long it was.
On average over the whole holiday the Allroad returned us 25 to the gallon. (approx 500 miles without van)

The towing capability for this outfit is:

Finding it very easy to tow, especially when using cruise control on motorways. Also, the air suspension is proving useful over uneven ground. Very pleased with both car and caravan.

Audi Allroad - 2.7 V6 30v Biturbo Quattro with a Caravan

Ray Cooke reviewed a Audi Allroad - 2.7 V6 30v Biturbo Quattro (184 Kw/247 bhp). Modelyear: june 2000 - may 2006) and a Caravan 1000 kg of 1250 kg.

Audi is an excellent stable tow car being 4*4 allows traction to be put down easily can be a bit overpowered and fitting of towbar is expensive apart from that has everything you will need and more

* Calculated weight ratio according to the British Towing Code (loaded weight caravan / kerb weight car)
